This story is just sad. The London Health Authority lost 20 laptops with patient data, and all had encryption software loaded on the system. None of the encrypted laptops had the encryption turned on. The Scan Man believes that the Authority has done what many organizations have done, that is, they have put a band-aid on the problem of securing medical records. As important as the actual technology, ongoing training and compliance reviews are crucial.
