“When the roof of the Monroe County Office Building caught fire in 1999, the Protectives raced into then-County Clerk Maggie Brooks’ offices with tarps and sheets of plastic to cover county records as firefighters poured water down on them from above. When machine tool distributor JC Slagle Inc. on Mt. Read Boulevard caught fire in 1994, they did the same for owner John Slagle’s important business documents, his fishing trophies and 400 turtle figurines.”
These guys seem crazy to me. Running into a burning building to protect documents. Instead of forcing these guys to risk their lives for paper, how about scanning and doing it right.
